Just imagine. Healthy, delicious chocolate sauce drizzled over....everything.
If you're under the impression that healthy equals bland food, you've been entirely mislead.
Healthy living is not restrictive or boring, it's actually freeing. Being able to eat more calories, and not obsess over numbers, just because you are eating the right foods, is an amazing thing.
I used to pour about 1/4 cup of Hershey's chocolate syrup into my milk every morning as a child. Oh. my. word. it was good. But then, I learned about how junk food affects the body and how you can eat real, satisfying foods without all of the nasty chemicals that destroy our insides.
In the real-food world we make no apologies for eating full-fat foods, because, fat doesn't make you fat (yes, you were lied to for 50 years)--it actually helps suppress insulin, making you more insulin resistance so you can burn fat effectively and have energy levels through the roof.
Knowing you are fueling your body with nourishing ingredients + satisfying your tastebuds at the same time is glorious, really.
Welcome to freedom and the life of more chocolate.
30-Second Chocolate Sauce
3 T coconut oil
4 T cocoa powder
1/4 tsp vanilla
1-2 T pure maple syrup
1. Melt coconut oil in microwave for 30 seconds (or until fully melted).
2. Mix in remaining ingredients. Pour over any food you like.
***If you pour it over frozen fruit it will harden. I love it over frozen bananas with some coconut flakes and pumpkin seeds. You can also pour this in a small, shallow container and refrigerator to make hard chocolate for cutting.
