Summer 2018 Women's Backpacking Trip

Join us for a 3-day, 2-night backpacking trip as we adventure into the Rocky Mountains for a weekend of hiking, soul-searching, breath-taking views, and campfire vibes.  

Details:
+ Trip Cost: $499 (includes basic gear; dinner meals)

+ Location: Colorado (Monarch Lake Loop Trail)

+ July 13-15 (overnight stays are Friday and Saturday; return home late Sunday evening 

+ Spots are limited

Meet Your Guides

Rachel and Kayla will be guiding you on an unforgettable weekend of outdoor adventure, personal development and soul-searching. Star-gazing around the campfire, daily hikes with breathtaking views and waking up to sounds of the wild will refresh and recharge your mind and body.

Daily guided individual + team activities will create an intentional space for you to reflect, process and grow as an individual. You will walk away with an empowered and refreshed mindset that allows you to manifest change and purpose in your life.

Rachel is a Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach and Functional Exercise Specialist.

She specializes in helping women optimize their nutrition and fitness so they can lead energized lives full of adventure. 

Through her program, Summit Fit Academy, she leads regular 14er, snowshoeing, and hiking trips for local participants. 

When not spending time hiking or running her business, you can find her eating tacos, growing kale or doing burpees in the backyard along side her two toddler boys. 

Rachel and her husband Daniel spend the summers camping as often as possible and gathering friends around their backyard fire pit. 

Her dream is to travel with her family and own her own cabin where she leads regular outdoor events and retreats. 

She is looking so forward to empowering you in the wilderness of the Rockies this summer!

Kayla is a Certified Wilderness First Responder and Backcountry Guide.

She specializes in backpacking and empowering people in the wilderness through teaching practices of vulnerability, initiative, and trust. She is collaborating with Rachel to create a meaningful outdoor experience for you this summer!

When not spending time hiking, camping or exploring the woods, you can find her painting, playing ultimate frisbee, or taking her lovely friends to coffee at Nixon's coffee house.  

Kayla and her family spend their summers hiking, camping, and kayaking. She aims to spend most of her free time outdoors and often spends her days hiking with friends or watching the sunset laughing around the warmth of a campfire.

Her dream is to continue her life as an adventure guide, to travel, and to live each day to the fullest. She hopes to become a wilderness therapist, and to study behavioral neuroscience.

She is so excited to share great conversations and moments of discovery with you this summer in the beauty of the backcountry!

Additional Info

Gear Provided: Backpack, 2-person tent, sleeping pad + bag, camp stove (JetBoil), water filter, head lamp. In February, all registrants will be emailed a gear list for additional items to bring.

Food Provided: Dinners will be provided each evening; hikers are responsible for daily snacks (breakfast, lunch) as these meals will be quick and on-the-go.

Physical Preparation: Backpackers should be prepared to hike between 3-7 miles each day. Regular strength training + walking/hiking should be a part of your workout routine as you will be carrying 30-40 lbs on your back during our treks. Summit Fit Academy workouts + nutrition plan will adequately prepare you. 

Departure: We will meet in Denver Thursday evening to make sure everyone has their bags packed properly. Each hiker needs to find their own accommodations for Thursday evening of which recommendations will be sent out upon registration. Friday morning we will leave very early (around 5 am) for Grand Lake. Prepare to arrive back in Denver Sunday evening.
